To all:
I opened a account with Datek one week ago based mainly on the posts on this thread. I felt that any company that would encourage a public 2 way dialog with their customers had little to hide. During this last week I had 3 trades, the 2 marketable limit orders filled in 2 and 3 seconds. The one limit order I entered in the spread took 5 minutes to fill. I am used to spending 5 minutes on hold to a live broker and paying several times the amount in commissions. If the service I have received is continued I will not hesitate to recommend Datek to my friends. I might suggest that unless you are a day trader, and are working the spread, take the money you are saving on commissions with Datek and place marketable limit orders (at bid or ask) and get your order executed. My only concern with Datek, which I have not yet experienced, is partial fills. I would like to see "All or None" added.
Happy trading, Ernie
