JFD,

is now hoping that Posner will save him from himself before the Appeals Court embarrasses him again

I think it quite likely that he (Jackson) will be acutely embarrassed by an appeals ruling. From:

quicken.com

Jackson also encouraged Justice Department lawyer David Boies to hone his attack on the Redmond, Wash.-based company in Tuesday's final arguments.

Jackson, throughout the government's closing argument, often interrupted Boies to prod him to sharpen his case against Microsoft. At one point, the judge reminded Boies that a company doesn't need to exercise pricing power to abuse its legally accumulated monopoly power in violation of federal antitrust laws. The threat of pricing power alone could point to violations, Judge Jackson said.

On consumer harm from Microsoft's dominance of the operating system for personal computers, Jackson encouraged Boise to use the argument that Microsoft stifled innovation to support his assertions that the Windows dominance had an impact on the market.

This clown is so blatantly biased that it's almost funny. Repeatedly coaching the prosecution, LOL! The Appeals Court is going to have him for lunch, IMO.
