Yes, the Jaz is where Iomega's future lies, IMHO. It has been a dream ever since I bought it (I had MUCH more desire to buy the Jaz than the Zip) Compare:
--------------------Zip------------------- Jaz
Access time --------29ms-----------------10ms
Capacity --------100 MB----------------1000 MB
Price ------------$200------------------$500
Price for disk------$20-------------------$120
$/MB ------------.20/MB----------------.12/MB

For personal storage, I would not buy ANYTHING except the Jaz, which has NO competition at all at the current time, except for the fixed
disks, which are still more expensive, and which require a lot of effort to change, install, etc. Installing a hard drive is my absolute least favorite upgrade. And, after 4 hard drives, the computer won't take any more (IDE, not SCSI). A Jaz, on the other hand, will take an unlimited number of cartridges, and is super fast.
Further, The Jaz adds more revenue to IOMG than the Zip (drives and disks) so revenue will Really explode if Jaz sales take off, which I believe they will. From speaking to fellow techies, they are all drooling over this drive. It has become the priority item on their list to buy. Any comments?
