First off, it was the NAACP, not the Democratic party.

Uh, yeah, right. LOL. But "swiftboating" was done by the Republicans. Got it.

Secondly, I suppose you don't remember Willie Horton, then.

I do. And what I remember about Willie Horton is that AL GORE raised the issue during the primary debate, and that the Republicans subsequently picked up on it and used it in the general election campaign. So, if you want to call racism, blame it on Gore -- he is the guy that brought Willie Horton up in the first place.

There was no element of racism in the Horton ad. The claim by liberals that it was racist cannot be supported reasonably. They ran the ad, obviously, using his photo (which only makes sense; you cannot run a TV ad with video). Somehow, this was translated to racist. Suppose it had been Charles Manson? Would they NOT have run Manson's photo? Of course they would. There was nothing racist about it, but the Left, and the liberal media, turned it into something it wasn't. And liberals, as they're prone to do, accepted the media's interpretation without THINKING for even 3 seconds about it.

I also seem to recall that the Bush campaign was not in any way connected with the ad.
