Steve, from my quick look at RETX and the business that they are in, it does not appear that it could conflict with objectives of acquiring a company such as PRGS. Progress Software assets include relational data base, 4GL tools, and Crescent. RETX seems to be mostly in network connectivity and wireless communications; thus, a completely different business. Admittedly, I am mostly unfamiliar with RETX and certainly may be missing something in this cursory opinion, but I am very familiar with PRGS. My conclusion is that RETX would not be the object of an end run around PRGS. MSFT has been on an acquisition track for several complementary businesses during the last few years; RETX might just be another bargain hunt by Mr. Gates. Regards - Kent
