Great posting on your part...very informative. I would agree that it would be very wise to trade for a year of two during off hours until one shows some consistency and the ability to keep losses at a minimum.

There is a lot to learn. Much of it is common sense,(see post #1 of this thread) yet it takes time. Swinging a tennis racket to hit the ball over the net seems simple enough, yet it takes time before your tennis balls stop going over the fence.

Reading is very helpful, and then making small trades to get practice. With trades only costing $9.95 at Datek, you can make little trades without spending a lot in commission.
