Glad you're happy with Gottfried's suggestion. I'll add one more. If you want to put those four or five icons within easy reach at all times just drag and drop them on your QuickLaunch Toolbar just to the right of your Start Button. Drag each one there and hold them over the toolbar until you see a vertical black line appear and then just let go. Now you'll have a shortcut to them without having to see the desktop.
