Casey, There was supposed to be a hearing yesterday (4-2-98) by the Senate Agriculture Committee to discuss Senator Harkin's Animal Agriculture Reform Act. I can't find anything on the Net so far as to how the hearing went! <April 2, 1998 -- A hearing to examine legislation introduced by Sen. Harkin (S.1323) in October that would set minimum national standards for the environmentally sound management of animal waste. The Animal Agriculture Reform Act, S.1323, would require large livestock and poultry operations to follow animal waste management plans focused on using manure for crop nutrients and preventing water pollution. The hearing will take place at 9 a.m. in SR-328A> All help is appreciated. BTW, if you SUPPORT Senator Harkin's bill, here's a link to the Senators on the Agriculture Committee.
