That's an important point. Most of us grew up with the face of cowardice as portrayed in WWII movies. I know I did.

Another complicating thread running through the discussion has been the relationship between forms of warfare and cowardice. I mentioned in an earlier post that the dictionary definition of cowardice does not speak to military tactics. I am not a military buff but even I can see that tactics have evolved enormously, even during my lifetime. I don't know how much of the WWII model of cowardice applies anymore.

For those who think Osama's attack was inherently cowardly, I would ask what he might have reasonably done as a leader in the prosecution of a quest to establish Islamism that would not have been cowardly. If you were an advisor to Osama, what would be your strategy to establish Islamism and assure that it prevails?
