SAN DIEGO, AFCEA West, Booth # 723, Feb 03, 2004 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via
Comtex/ -- Harris Corporation (NYSE: HRS), a leading supplier of secure,
tactical radios for worldwide defense forces, today announced that it has been
awarded a $12 million Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract
with a ceiling price of $41 million from the U.S. Navy Space and Naval Warfare
Systems Command (SPAWAR). The contract is for shipboard high-frequency (HF)

Harris' RF Communications Division, headquartered in Rochester, New York, will
supply HF broadband communications systems for Navy warships, including San
Antonio-class amphibious transport ships, Arleigh Burke-class guided missile
destroyers, Nimitz-class aircraft carriers and Ticonderoga-class guided missile

our relationship with the Navy," said Dana Mehnert, vice president, defense
operations, Harris RF Communications.

The High Frequency Radio Group (HFRG) system offers the U.S. Navy a set of HF
communications building blocks that can be configured to satisfy a variety of
Naval platforms. Harris has delivered systems to the U.S. Navy Under previous
HFRG contracts for installation on nine different hull platforms.

Harris will use its experience with configuring elements such as
receiver/exciters, power amplifiers, couplers, and controllers in this modular
system as it seeks to support the concepts and goals set forth in the Joint
Tactical Radio System Airborne, Maritime, Fixed Station (JTRS AMF) procurement
effort (formerly referred to as JTRS Clusters 3 and 4).
