Battery cells in the Tesla S weigh less than 1000 lbs.

And when the 2170 cells are adopted later this year the battery pack gets even lighter with much more total energy stored.

Range on a single charge will be well over 600 km.

Battery swaps were old tech back when batteries had low capacity.

Not so today.

Just not needed in the real world.

You will never see "battery swapping" passenger cars.
