Re: "Does anyone here know of any such cases off-hand?" I would suggest that your friend look into Amgen vs. Genetics Institute over EPO patents. I believe the case went to trial in Boston (same judge as the PBIO/BSEP case?) and that Amgen ultimately won with the decision coming down 2 or 3 years ago. I don't know a lot about it but I am told that this case was very interesting from a technical law perspective and clearly is biotech oriented.
