Started what? I had been ordering computer products over the web before Amazon even existed.

If you are referring to inspiring an unprecidented mania filled with retail investors and momentum players, then I will agree that Amazon did indeed start it all. However, is that something to be proud of?

Bezos has proved nothing more than he can sell commodity items at a loss, and generate huge personal profits for himself and insiders through a public offering of the debt needed to give those commodities away at a loss.

As far as pyramid scheme textbooks go, he'll have his place in history. But as far as running a business that is profitable from operations, there is little to no chance he'll ever succeed.
