By what measure did it peak and decline? By the fact, that another empire had supplanted it. Constantinople fell to the Turks in 1453. The following centuries were not part of any golden age of Islam. Also the claim that parts of China and India became parts of the Islamic empire at its peak was made to engross the accomplishments of Chinese and Indian civilization into Islamic civilization. Which is very misleading. Tell historians your beef.....maybe they will change things to suit you. They don't have to. You're the only one who claimed erroneously that Chinese and Indian achievements were Islamic ones. What I hadn't realized was when the Roman Empire moved its capital to Turkey, over time they began to speak Greek. The eastern Roman empire became Greek spearking before there was a Roman empire. Maybe so.....the official language was still Latin when the Roman empire moved to Istabul. The official language of the Roman empire, yes. That is irrelvant to what was the lingua franca in the eastern empire. In your desperate attempt to look like an intellectual, you stretched this rather mundane point over 20 or more posts. Very sad. Yes thats what you did. And you keep coming back for more. No, you did it..........I was ready to move on ten posts ago. Your idea of moving on was to continue to misstate historical facts. Huh? All I said was that certain things that we take for granted now were discovered by the Muslims. Like what? Algebra, which we know predated Islam by centuries? Does it really piss you off that some other culture participated in the advancement of Man on this planet...are you so ego centric that you require the West to be the source of everything in this world? Lie about my arguments now, why don't you? On the contrary, I think the ancietn Greeks, Indians and Chinese don't deserve to have their cultural achievements misattributed as Islamic as you've done.
