Dale, you are forgetting the increased volume expected.

"By the way, I'm not so certain that the retailers consider the rebate as a "thank you". They still have to pay the same price for their inventory. Iomega gets to hold onto that $50 until the customer buys the product, sends in the rebate, the rebate is processed, mailed and cashed. This move is good for Iomega's cash flow, but not for the retailers'."
