TSX:SPM
VANCOUVER, April 23 /CNW/ - Scorpio Mining Corporation (TSX:SPM - News) is pleased to report additional drill results from 2007 underground drilling from the 9th Level of the Nuestra Senora Silver - Zinc Project on the main Nuestra Senora body.

Drilling continues on the Hoag, Sept 9 and Main Nuestra Senora zones from the 8th, 9th and 10th level cross-cuts and main ramp drill stations.

Peter J. Hawley, Chairman, CEO reports, "The strong metal values and wide widths continue to drive the project forward. As reported today and once again as demonstrated by our previous releases, the robust nature of the mineralizing system within the Nuestra Senora deposit will certainly have a positive impact on the resource grade and tonnage. The project continues to advance at a rapid rate with projected underground development timelines being exceeded. A preliminary geomechanical rock mechanics report indicates that the ground conditions permit stope sizes up to 25 metres wide by 30 metres in length by 60 metres in height without ground support. This study bodes well for the bulk mining scenarios presently being considered by the company."
