See, you're just being too proactive. In the theatre they talk of overacting in terms of "eating the scenery" (I believe that's the term).

Your efforts are a lot like sticking pencils in your ears and squirting milk out your nose. Too obvious.

Need a little work on gesture and nuance. Olivier would never have won an Oscar if he kept running up to the camera and flashing his privates.
