Two of my favorite parks here in Utah, Arches and Canyonlands, have some stuff you can get to by vehicle, but if you want to get at the really cool stuff, you have to hike. Some of the really spectacular parts of Canyonlands require an 11 mile hike, one way! That hike isn't flat, but is up and down dozens of small canyons. Butch Cassidy used to hide out there.
