(VLSI) 19 3/16 -1 5/16: --UPDATE-- Gruntal & Co. reiterates "strong buy" on manufacturer of integrated circuits as Q2 earnings in line with estimates; feels that company is poised for a recovery after the completion of a difficult quarter that marked the bottom of the company's earnings; orders from the wireless market improved substantially near the end of the quarter signaling a turnaround in company's largest market; VLSI also controlled costs in Q2 and more steps are in place for Q3; expects sharp rebound in earnings even with a modest increase in revenues, followed by strong gains in Q4 and 1999.....
