. I thought we gave money to the airlines because they NEEDED it. We gave money to the airline INDUSTRY because an adequate airline industry is a matter of national security and IT was at risk. The point that I disputed was your assertion that the total amount should have been allocated within the INDUSTRY based on the relative need of the various AIRLINES. I disagreed. If you care to back that point up with some arguments, I would be interested in hearing them. Bringing up points about the validity of the bailout as a whole muddles the question we are discussing.
