I grew up in a semi-wealthy neighbored. My family was middle class and most of my friends were upper middle class. I think you have mentioned you attended private school, which I did not, but many of my friends did. I dated Lee Firestone and Cindy Chrysler, but I had the good fortune to meet and marry a better woman with less money. BTW, my rich little girl friend's mothers were dumped by their husbands. Anyway, my wife is a fantastic person and I hope the best for all my old friends.
