By that theory a stock trading in a trading range would never break out to the downside... check some charts, this is common. People do, after all, sell stocks at losses. Besides, it seems likely that the majority of shares in ASND have not traded this past month (I know mine haven't), more likely the same shares held by "traders" are sold again.. and again... and again. I am sure there are those with core positions in ASND who are still sitting on nice profits and still holding the stock.
