As there are "interlaced" and "non-interlaced",(the latter "paints" each raster line on each pass, rather than every other raster line on each pass for interlaced... and therefore non-interlaced supposedly provides better resolution), I have read that a screen saver is still a good precaution.

There is a new security product on the market, called Insure I believe. It is a small infrared device that you can wear around you neck if you wish. When you leave your computer, you just wave it at the screen and a screen saver appears. When you return, you wave it again and the screen saver disappears. Sort of like those Mobil gas pump devices I guess.

If anyone is interested, I will try to uncover more info on it.
