I agree that AOL is trying to adapt to the internet, but explain further how AOL may become like Osborne & Commodore? Doesn't AOL get the beginner user and provides them with a product that navigates the internet easily. They also provide these new users with content that is presented to them without complication.
I just wonder how long it takes a new user to become confident enough to leave AOL for an outside provider. And should that user leave, how long does AOL count him as a customer.
Working with businessmen who are ignorant about the internet, I can see the appeal AOL has in attracting additional services. I would guess that trend with continue until the businesses find a better method of reaching internet consumers.
I want to sell short, but don't want to get killed. I'm hoping to enter at 71, their 52 week high.
