I don't get "monopolizing on government giveaways" argument. Its not like one person or company is getting all the giveaways. Not that other people or companies getting giveaways would make the situation better. It would actually make it worse as the problem would be more widespread.

Is the distinction you are trying to draw based more on amassing "a huge mountain of wealth", or on the idea of monopolization. Is it a matter of scale, or is it a matter of looking at the situation as a zero sum game (like the Sunday dinner with a limited food supply) and seeing one person or company grabbing all the goodies?

If its the former, then I sort of agree, but I don't see how its not just the same thing scaled up. If its the latter than I can understand why you think the situation is unfair or undesirable, but I can't see why you think the situation actually exists.

Moving from analyzing your thoughts I'll just express mine. I see two problems with the subsidies. 1 - Subsidies have to be paid for by someone. If its an actual cash subsidy this is clear. Someone (probably the tax payer) foots the bill. If its just selling something cheap this may be less of an issue. No one is directly forced to pay. OTOH the government is taxing money from others to meet its costs, and is borrowing money as well, while in the mean time it gives away assets for less than they are worth. That probably isn't a good way to run things. 2 - Subsidies create economic inefficiencies, they distort purchases and investments.
