The first part of your post is total bullshit, bozo. As to the second part, you make a valid point Daniel : a majority of Republicans were indeed in favor of engaging China on Trade.
But I very much doubt that they were ever consulted or supported having Commerce in charge of regulating technology exports. And they definitely did not endorse Clinton and Commerce being reckless or corrupt in their regulation of technology exports to China.
They have evry right to suggest that this was an apparent result of Chinese contributions to DNC and Clinton, and be outraged about it.
To pretend that China is "our friend" as Berger put it this week end, and that they really "are no longer Communists", is pathetic, insulting, reckless, and more.
China is nobody's friend. Ask the Taiwanese, Tibetans, Indians, or Philippinos, who see the Chinese build installations on the Spratlys, 150 mi from their coast, when the closest Chinese coast is over 1000 mi away.
When Clinton sent a naval force over to Taiwan after the Chinese fired missiles over Taiwan in March on 1996, none other than Charlie Trie delivered a letter and a check to Clinton's defense fund, asking him basically to back off. |
