Two quick points:

1) If you're broker is telling you that news is "about to come out", then that news has been well circulated and a "buy the rumor, sell the news" pattern is likely.

2) Ask your broker a bit about the balance sheet and valuation here. Perhaps he's avoiding that ugly topic, or perhaps he doesn't read filings.
