Dublin, Ohio, -- October 28, 1996 -- Applied Innovation Inc. (AI) today announced the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Cisco
Systems, Inc.
Under the MOU, Cisco will negotiate the license of AI to use Cisco Router technology to integrate a Cisco based Router in AI's data communication products. At the
same time, AI will negotiate the appointment of Cisco as a worldwide distributor for the AISwitch product line including the Cisco based Routers.
"We look forward to offering service provider customers worldwide end-to-end operations support network solutions through the combined strengths of Cisco's
IOSTM internetworking software routing technology and Applied Innovation's network mediation and data communications products," said Jon Shantz, Cisco's vice
president of service provider markets.

broadening its channels of distribution through Cisco's worldwide sales force."
