Hi, Shalom,just kicking back watching tv tonight. Those of you still up in the San Francisco Bay Area might tune in right now to PBS, a three part trilogy called "The Burnings", the second one is just starting, going on for a while longer tonight, lots of original historical drawings, source materials about the Inquisition, Mary as a goddess figure until the 1300's, a Catholic priest at a university in California who has a witch on the faculty because he believes it's valid, and what people think of him for that (!),up to 9,000,000 women burned in medieval Europe when the Catholics came, destroying an egalitarian pagan society where women and men worked alongside each other and women were the doctors and midwives, holding so much power that the Church then forbid that entirely and executed women who wanted to study, and also ordered men from the pulpit, nonetheless, to beat their wives into submission. Lots of torture devices for women, they are calling it the Holocaust for women, I'm sure you could order it at the video store if you had an open mind and were interested . .this is history, this is educational, written by history professors . . .educate yourselves!
