That's what I remember also. However, it does depend on when the recession "ends." Some people say it ends when the economy is back to ground level. Other's (the one's who say they last 9 months) say they end when the economy turns upwards. That is, the economy can still be smaller than it was before the recession, just heading in the right direction.
