Sure...so now folks on the left will try to get even by smearing McCain's war service and they will feel justified because, hey they started it.

Sadly, that's true. At one time, we used to mostly honor and respect each other even if we disagreed. It was not easy but it was the honorable thing to do. That got lost when the right decided to make Bill Clinton a target. With each passing year, it gets worse.........its like the Hatfields and the McCoys.....no one remembers exactly how it got started but it is what it is. And unfortunately, its hard to go back to that other time.
