Where's the value to the acquirer of AWRE?

As you said, they have licensed to many big players. Don't most potential suitors have what they need with a license? Seems like there might not be much cash flow until Aware's (there are other players) licensees deploy in large quantities. Seems like there could be significant earnings dilution for the acquirer too.

If there is a buyout, especially now, there is no guarantee of a large premium. I'm not sure how well a buyout would sit with the acquirers' competitors that have licensed the AWRE technology.

I predict a trading range for a couple more quarters - say 9-13. There are more attractive opportunities elsewhere IMHO. I suppose the investors who think any companies with ADSL products will go to the moon will come around again in time. That story is a little stale now but some will make money trading that scenario again. I think it's at least a few months off though.
