I know this is addressed to Slider, but permit a brief comment: why should the Chinese people decide, en masse, to buy gold? Their own currency is rock solid and inflation under control? You could use the same argument for Russia, India, Pakistan, even the western countries or even the U.S.A. It's all theory but not realistic.
