OFF TOPIC: James. A couple of months ago we were discussing the infrastructure behind various ISP's. Well, I just want to let you know that I ended up cancelling my Sprint internet service today. From the Minneapolis area the service was absolutely the worst of any provider I've used so far. (Although I've always been smart enough to avoid AOL.)

Sprint's server was down for over 5 hours this morning and in late afternoon their server/backbone gets so busy it is useless to navigate the web. I know response time is a function of the individual web site response time but it became real obvious after trying to connect to 20 or so different web sites that the problem was on Sprint's equipment.

I'm on MCI now and my connection speed has jumped from 26.4K to 31.2K. I'm also seeing a noticeable improvement in throughput independent of the increase in connection speed.

IMHO, MCI seems like the way to go for generic internet access.
