Looking at it from my perspective, pissing off a few SUV drivers is not at all significant

What I don't understand is why they won't consider conservation? That is the fastest way to get oil prices back down. And from what I have seen here on the West Coast, people can be very responsive when asked to conserve voluntarily. In fact, they feel they are united in a common cause.
