Re:Teranex This is not digital encoding technology, but format conversion. These will be bought by all broadcasters in one form or another to allow current analog and digital signals to be broadcast in the new digital SD or HD ATSC digital formats. Such digital processing boxes also clean up signals before compression, allowing greater encoder efficiency, and more signals per channel. I talked to these folks at a recent industry conference. They'll show their first products at NAB. Divi and others aware of them. Their very interesting new digital technology - "a chip per pixel" parallel processing - looks promising. How they organize to sell it is critical. JMW
