Reduced supply of food combined with high prices just as serious a threat to your survival as being robbed, severely injured by assault; Or, seriously & permanently impaired by debilitating COVID vax side effects.

You can't resist Deep State political control if you're dependent on them for food, water, energy, constant medical care, armed protection or other essentials goods & services. You won't survive. Therefore, your plan has to be effective in countering all these challenges. That said...

Hardly ever hear about anyone else's garden, fruit trees, etc. Don't want to be a bore talking about our stuff all the time. Do occasionally post about it when nobody else does because it's important & doable unless you have serious mobility issues.

===========================================================================

Just came in from picking one of our 3 local plum trees. Best harvest in 4 yrs. because prior 3 produced zero plums after several late killer frosts. 2 of those 3 yrs only our Cortland Apple Tree & 30-40 ft. of Blackberry Bushes produced very good yields. Last year, Yellow Delicious Tree produced at lot, though small in size.

No doubt, this year wasn't about just a milder Spring. Next door neighbors placed their initial bee hive 200' from our orchard & garden.

They also put in a big vegetable garden, added more chickens & started raising pigs. With 4 kids? They're gonna need it. So will those living near you. In addition, several nearby neighbors raise premier quality Black Angus Cattle. A few miles in any direction, you can find sheep & goats.

Easy to see a future where barter - between so many productive people - better balances the diet of most families. Putting the pieces together shows a great many families in this part of Appalachia are partly or entirely self sufficient in food AWA being well armed.

Anybody reading this thread, have current food growing experiences to share? TIA

Right now? Back outside to enjoy the beautiful early summer evening and maybe snatch up some more delicious fresh plums.

All the best to everyone,
Iso
