Maybe I'm a little naive, but after reading post #3857 of this thread, strong probabilities are emerging. As Techie suggests previously and others have come to conclude, Mark Taylor is Chris Alexander. Techie suggests in #3850 and #3855 that Mark is a multiple personality newly emerged on SI, AKA Chris Alexander (and nick-names him Sybill). The mistake I think Techie makes is that Chris is the true personality and Mark the play actor. In his post of #3857 Mark is either making a bad joke or he admits to playing the jerk of Chris Alexander to do a story about on-line investors. Now apparently the assignment is over and he presumes that he can we can all laugh now and treat him like a regular guy. The problem is that he has hinted that he had something to do with the WSJ article and with as yet unknown future ones. That article smeared Techie out of proportion to the incident. Now this guy says:

I really do think that you would get a lot of laughs having a few drinks with me someday up in NYC and appreciating the joke of the whole thing. In real life, I am a lot of fun. I would give you a call if you were up to it; I still have the number. >>
If smearing someone is his idea of humor, I think something sinister has been lurking on these threads. The Chris character was wacko and fictional; this guy is smart and calculating. People don't seem to care now that the person they are conversing with IS in fact Chris Alexander, the same entity that terrorized multiple threads on SI with character assassinations. If what he implies in #3857 is true, he has done this for a news story. Post #1651 is an example of Chris baiting Techie, but it is all fantasy. It might make for humorous reading, but he has subjected 1000's of readers to these methodical insults and verbal ramblings. Pat has called him a mole in #3864. Judge for yourself, I am not certain of these things, but I don't see another explanation.
