A RISE IN RUSSIAN AUTOMOBILE EXPORTS TO CHINA IS EXPECTED IN 2005
MOSCOW, December 21 (RIA Novosti) - Exports of Russian automobiles and assembly parts to China may exceed $60 million next year. Sergei Tsyplakov, Russia's trade representative in China, told about this to journalists Tuesday.
In his words, Russia is engaged in negotiations with the China First Automobile Group Corporation now on supplies of 500 Urals automobiles in 2005. It is also planned to export engines manufactured by the Zavolzhye auto works (in the city of Zavolzhye, Nizhny Novgorod region, with the centre in Nizhny Novgorod, the former city of Gorky) to the amount of up to $7 million.
"The Chinese side is very much interested in the Gorky auto works' new product, i.e., the Tiger offroader. We expect the agreement on supplies of this automobile to China to be signed at the very start of next year," Tsyplakov noted.
Sergei Tsyplakov also said that in February 2005 the Russian company Atomstroiexport would prepare a tender proposal for building two nuclear power facilities in China. "However, we have not come to a principal agreement as regards the building of the second stage of the Tianwan nuclear power plant," Tsyplakov said.
At present, the overall capacity of nuclear power generating units in China (both built or being under construction) is 8.7 million kilowatts. The capacity of the Tianwan nuclear power plant in the province of Jiangsu is 2 million kilowatts, and the overall capacity of the two nuclear power plants in the province of Guangdong is 3.8 million kilowatts.
In Tsyplakov's words, the cost of the project to build the third stage of the Yimin thermal power plant may reach $400 million en.rian.ru |
