Kerry did nothing wrong. The first sentence of the piece says "unwittingly". This is a problem in any big campaign, You have one or two rich contributors with powerful connections and seemingly legitimate business interests. But then they turn out to be conmen or crooks.

It is only corruption if you are aware you are doing something unethical. Like the Abramoff, Delay and Cunningham scams.

The rightwing also tried to smear the Clintons about some jerkoff named Peter Paul who showered them with money and connections. Turns out the guy was a big conman and had everyone around him fooled into thinking he was a big operator. He ripped off a guy I know for a half million and fooled the Clintons for awhile too. Now he's convicted of stock swindling and is hired by Newsmax to perpetrate the smear on the Clintons, including a frivolous lawsuit a la Paula Jones. It got thrown out of court.

Agsin, 98% of the corrupt is rightwing GOP these days and it's very orchestrated and deliberate.

Accidentally doing something unethical is not unethical. It will happen to any politician about 1% of the time. There's a bad apple in every barrel, basically.
