Cause you know, Obama needs all the help he can get:

This race is a lot closer than the RCP average would reflect.

The average includes two rather obvious outliers -- both "conveniently" obtained by two of the most liberal "news" organizations in the country. The apparent 7 point spread, when adjusted for these likely-deliberate misstatements, is 4.8 percentage points.

A five-point spread, at this point in the race, with Obama just now morphing into his more moderate character, having just ended the battle with Hillary, and with Bush at at 28% approval rate, is not impressive.

This could well end in a McCain landslide -- IF, that is, McCain begins to be more aggressive in pointing out Obama's rather obvious character flaws and inexperience. To date, McCain's rhetoric has been very controlled in this respect. McCain did "win the week" last week, regardless.
