They already announced the shortfall 6 weeks ago.

They had to in order to avoid problems with the convertible bond offering they did... and therefore, I assume they erred on the side of caution. That is how Solectron works.

So it won't surprise me a bit, if they came in better than the lowered expectations.

Also I expect they will tell us that component shortages are not as bad now as previously, and that the remaining Nortel plant acquisitions are now on schedule. If so, the next Q, and next fiscal year guidance will be good.
