Iraq was Bush and his chickenhawk's war. It was his pet project. They had their reasons, most of which they kept secret and still do. The nation as a whole didn't care that much until he made it his #1 priority and dominated the media with it. Most of the world was dead-set against it. Also, anyone who knew the facts should never have felt threatened by Saddam, just irritated.

Also, if it's not Bush's war then why does the GOP treat it as such?
