Being up late last night I heard the early news----Couric interviewed the Georgian President.

He was very articulate and was obviously concerned about the agression of Russia on the people of Georgia on Russia's Southern border and quick in addressing Couric's questions.

There was a map posted on LB's site of that area. It isn't too difficult to see why Russia is wanting to reclaim that area.

Turkey, Georgia and the other small countries form a buffer zone between Russia and Iran and Iraq. Russia may want to control all of that area----as noted restoring the old USSR.

If Russia controls these countries, then Russia strengthens its alliance with Iran ---or at least it seems so to me.

Georgia has of course one of the very valuable oil pipe lines that I heard may have been bombed by the Russians today.

It's unfortunate that Russia has once again decided to be an aggressor.
