The bug is fixed on Dev with posting a new, non-reply to a subject. Hopefully. Let me know if you find otherwise.

What should be happening is that when you're browsing a subject, you can post a new message on Dev that isn't a reply. And when reading such messages, there shouldn't be a "To" or "Who wrote" in the message.

A side benefit of this is that if you've started a thread, new messages to the thread won't show up in your personal inbox. Down the road I'll likely make this a configurable option on a per-thread basis so that a thread originator can decide whether or not non-reply posts to his thread will show up in his Inbox.
