There is another reason, but it is speculative.

Before the open Friday, Alex Brown suspended coverage of all the EMS stocks because they had lost their analyst covering the sector. Alex Brown had their clients in a pretty big position in the sector at one point, and was one of the big players in the sector when Savage was there.

I suspect some of their clients had some leftover inventory of EMS stocks, that they are choosing to liquidate instead of carrying through earnings reports "blind". Since SLR is the first to report, they needed to move quickly to pare positions last Friday.

This is just a hunch, give the trading pattern Friday and today.
