Al, I am not sure Powell was opposed to the war as much as you and michael think. He may have had reservations but he didn't have any trouble fabricating a good case for war in front of the UN based on weak intel that the Brits warned was probably wrong. Powell was a huge disappointment for me. When his name was no longer useful to this administration, they let him go.

Fair enough. Reading Woodward's books I remember passages in which Powell was, but his own words, not happy with the war path cheney and rumsfeld put bush on...and at one point told bush that a post saddam iraq might be worse than the status quo.
