Anatomy of the word OXYMORON

Oxy: Sharp
moron: self-explanatory word

I don't understand this word OXYMORON. How is it possible that a moron could be sharp?. When somebody says that a person is not sharp, then we assume that he is dull, obtuse, opaque, and dense.
Whoever coined this word - Oxymoron - must be an oxygen-deprived moron. A sharp moron!. Sharp pointedly foolish .Give me a break.
