FRE/FNM shares are now worthless because any gov't bailout would make sure the holders of the common will not benefit. Ugh! Its an ugly mess with the DOW making a new, 52 week low.

I am sure the whole thing is exagerated. Unemployment is still around 5.5%. I doubt that there are that many employed people defaulting on their loans, especially now that interest rates are going down. Each month more ARM mortgages are racheted down and more people can make their payments.
