Imagine if Bush had been able to ram through his SS privatization scheme. We wouldn't have enough WalMarts to hire the greeters to feed our seniors! Actually the seniors would be OK under that plan. Theirs would have been rolled entirely into short term government bonds, or left with the SS. Younger people who choose the stock market would be OK also, just a dip in value, but I am sure they would be much better off by the time they retire.
